Your profile (goal, weight, height, age, sex, activity), food diary, water, mood notes, measurements, progress photos and habits are stored only on your device. We have no accounts or servers with your diary.
If the AI is on, the photo, voice recording or description of your meal (and, for the coach and the plan, the age, weight, goal and preferences you typed in your profile) is sent to our intermediate server (Cloudflare) and to Google Gemini only to answer. We don't keep it. You can turn the AI off in Settings. Progress photos are never sent.
Barcode numbers and searches are checked in our food list (Open Food Facts and USDA). If you add a missing product, we store only the barcode, name, brand and label values, with no personal data, so other people can use it. When you photograph a restaurant menu, we anonymously keep only the detected dishes (name, estimated kcal and macros, language, and city or restaurant if shown) to improve the food database; never the photo, your profile or health data.
If you import a file exported from your phone’s health app, Angie One only reads steps, weight and workouts to adjust your daily goal. That data stays on your device, is never sent to the AI or to third parties, and is never used for ads. The iPhone app does not connect to Apple Health (HealthKit).
If you turn on the backup, your data is encrypted on your phone with a code only you have. Our server only sees encrypted bytes. You can delete it at any time.
If you join a group, we store your nickname, an anonymous ID and your weekly challenge points. Never your weight, food or health data. You can report and block, and we review every report.
If you report food data or an AI answer, we store the report text for up to 180 days to fix errors, with no personal data.
We don't sell, rent or share your health or food data with advertisers or third parties, and we don't use it for ads. There are no ad trackers.
On iPhone you pay with Apple (In-App Purchase); Apple shares only the subscription status with us through RevenueCat, never your card. On the web you pay with Stripe. To turn on Premium we store an anonymous payment ID, the plan, dates and status (no name or email). Deleting your account deletes these records; anonymous accounting receipts are kept as long as tax law requires.
You can delete your account and all your data in Settings → Delete account; this also deletes your cloud backup and takes you out of your friend groups. If you live in California (CCPA), the EU (GDPR) or another place with privacy laws, write to our email to exercise your rights.
Angie One is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EU).
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS). If a breach affects your data we will notify you as the law requires (including the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule). If we change this policy we will show it in the app before it applies.
